... Liverpool have now switched their attention to Poborsky, who starred twice at Anfield for the Czech Republic in Group C games against Italy and Russia. The long-haired Czech also scored a sensational winner at Villa Park in the quarter-final against Portugal, scooping the ball cheekily over the keeper.
Poborsky, 24, is due to play in the Champions League for his club Slavia Prague next season. Nicknamed "The Express Train," he helped them reach the UEFA Cup semi-finals last season.
His international team-mate Pavel Nedved, of Sparta Prague, has also won admirers in Euro '96. But it is Poborsky rather than fellow midfielder Nedved who Liverpool are eyeing.
